Brian Holub, DVM

Dr. Brian Holub received his Bachelor's of Science degree in 1979 from the University of Cincinnati, and is a 1983 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Holub is the founder of Countryside Veterinary Hospital in 1985. A fun note: in addition to companion pet practice, he previously had served as the part-time zoo veterinarian for Benson's Wild Animal Farm (formerly) of Hudson, NH.

Stemming from his experience and education, he has adapted many progressive programs into his hospital over the years, including but not limited to the treatment of exotics, ultrasonography, endoscopy, laser surgery, TTA cruciate surgery, physical therapy and laparoscopy.

Dr. Holub is a board member of the EveryCat Health Foundation and a grant reviewer and member of the EvertCat Health Foundation Scientific Advisory Board. Dr Holub is also a grant reviewer and member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the AKC Canine Health Foundation. Other board member affiliations include: The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine’s Stanton Foundation Advisory Board, New England Disabled Sports, and the New England Disabled Sports Foundation.

Among his many special interests, Dr. Holub has incorporated advanced dental surgery into the practice and is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society. Above and beyond the latest advancements in dental care, he performs restoration, bonding, gingival flap surgery, and endodontics (root canals) to help your pet keep it's perfect smile.

His interest in continuing education extends beyond the boundaries of the hospital. He has served as a clinical instructor at Tufts College of Veterinary Medicine for first year veterinary students, in "Problem Based Learning."

Dr. Holub was a breeder of pedigreed American Shorthair Cats for over 23 years, fueling his special interest in pedigree cat medicine, multiple cat environmental disease and feline reproduction.

Dr. Holub has four sons, 2 step-children, and 2 grandchildren. He himself and all four of his boys hold the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Our hospital offers tours to all members of the scouts, both boys and girls, to help them earn badges to progress in the organization, as well as to help them learn about the various career opportunities available in the veterinary field.

Dr. Holub is a PSIA professional ski instructor is a proud volunteer ski instructor for New England Disabled Sports at Loon Mountain. And spends most of his winter weekends on the mountain helping disabled athletes to ski.

Dr. Holub cares strongly about the patients, clients, hospital, employees and families of Countryside Veterinary Hospital.
